APRIL 23 CONCERT<\/strong>
\nThe aim of the activity is to enhance music culture for children and be acquainted with concerts. iNCi-VAK Foundation provided the venue for the event.The children of E\u015frefpa\u015fa, Bayrakl\u0131 and Mevlana Houses were taken to a concert performed by the foundation\u2019s Children Orchestra in Adnan Saygun Culture and Art Center on April 23,2018. They were pleased thoroughly with music and celebrated the 23th of April Children Holiday waving the national flags in their hands. 60 children joined the activity. <\/p>\n

END OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN<\/strong>
\nSoroptimist Clubs of \u0130zmir organized a conference within the violence againts women designed to raise awareness among the women and girls\u2019 living in areas with low social levels, raise public awareness of the issue and provide psychological and legal counseling for them.
\nOn the agenda of officially designated 25 November as the International day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, defense ways against violence and women and girls\u2019 human rights were lectured.
\nDrama expert Ay\u015fenur Da\u011fyaran held a work shop socializing women. Forensic specialist Prof. Dr. Ak\u00e7a Toprak Erg\u00f6nen\u2019s topic was \u2018Causes of Violence and Ways of Defense\u2019. Lawyer G\u00fclce Muro\u011flu K\u0131lavuz delivered her speech on topic \u2018Legal Rights Againts Violence\u2019.
\nThe meeting is held at Konak Culture Center on November 28,2017. 43 women benefited. <\/p>\n

\u0130ZM\u0130R WOMEN ORGANIZATIONS ASSOCIATION\u2019S CHORUS <\/strong>
\nA concert in memory of Atat\u00fcrk is organized by the contribution of several NGOs in \u0130zmir. A group of amateur members formed a chorus. A member of G\u00f6ztepe Club joined the chorus as a singer for the aim of improving bonds of friendship among the members of other NGOs. Rehearsals started in September 2017 where as the performance was on November 8, 2017. <\/p>\n

MAUSOLEUM VISIT<\/strong>
\nEvery year the board members of Turkish Union and several members from Turkish Soroptimist Clubs visit the tomb of Atat\u00fcrk to pay our respect and gratitute to the great leader on his death anniversary. Three members from G\u00f6ztepe Club and one of the scholar joined the Turkish Union\u2019s activity on November 4, 2017. It was an opportunity for our scholar to see the mausoleum and the museum of Atat\u00fcrk. The group had lunch toghether with all the Soroptimists attended. <\/p>\n

From LIBERATION to ESTABLISHMENT<\/strong>
\nThe leading and pioneer women in the history of the Turkish Republic were presented in a fashion show by the outfits of the period organized by a local NGO (\u0130zmir T\u00fclay Akta\u015f G\u00f6n\u00fcll\u00fc Kurulu\u015flar G\u00fc\u00e7birli\u011fi). G\u00f6ztepe Club member G\u00fcne\u015f Aky\u0131ld\u0131z represented a personality named \u015eerife Bac\u0131 at the fashion show. Other personalities were represented by the other members of different NGOs. The life stories mentioning the importance of their roles were narrated as the personalities appeared on stage. Rehearsals started in August 2017 where as the event staged on September 25,2017. <\/p>\n

T\u00dcRG\u00d6K DONATION<\/strong>
\nFive Soroptimist Clubs of \u0130zmir contributed a donation for printing of a book with Blair Alphabet for visually disabled to be listed at the Visually Disabled Library (T\u00fcrkiye G\u00f6rme \u00d6z\u00fcrl\u00fcler Kitapl\u0131\u011f\u0131-T\u00dcRG\u00d6K). Delivery has taken place in September 2017.<\/p>\n

DON\u2019T INTERFERE MY OUTFIT<\/strong>
\nAs a civil society solidarity to emphasize the freedom of women\u2019s dressing and to protest the discrimination through dressing, a fashion show is organized in collaboration with the Union of Women\u2019s Organization on September 21, 2017. Well-known women of the business world of \u0130zmir wore different models of outfits besides T-shirts with \u2018don\u2019t interfere my outfit\u2019 written on for the fashion show. A member of G\u00f6ztepe Club participated the show. With several NGO members and Soroptimist supporters number of audience reached a total of 400.<\/p>\n

SCHOLAR SUPPORT<\/strong>
\nFatma Karataban, a scholar who is studying in Mechanical Engineering of Afyon Karahisar University participated the \u201cCoaching Training\u201d workshop organized by the Turkish Union in February 2, 2019, in \u0130stanbul. The training continued as four sessions individually on-line and another workshop in \u0130stanbul.
\nThe aim of the training is to enhance awareness of what to do, where to see themselves in bussiness life through Career Coaching training.
\nG\u00f6ztepe Soroptimist Club covered the transportation expenses of the scholar.<\/p>\n

ORANGE THE WORLD <\/strong>
\nDuring 15 days many activities are arranged to emphasis the Elimination of Violence against Women. <\/p>\n

Turkish Union prepared a monotype poster to enhance awareness of Elimination of Violence against Women. Municipality covered the printing cost of the posters in \u0130zmir. The posters are displayed on the windows of Buca, Karaba\u011flar, Mevlana, E\u015frefpa\u015fa Houses, Hamdi Dalan Special Education and Application Center, Barbaros and K\u00fclt\u00fcr district offices, Visage company, Shell gas station and Dalan Kimya company.<\/p>\n

As the last activity, Soroptimists wearing orange t-shirts and holding orange balloons and banners emphasizing the meaning of the activity, gathered in front of the K\u00fclt\u00fcr district office in December 8, 2018. They read the press release and released the orange balloons to the sky.
