VISIT TO ANITKAB\u0130R<\/strong>
 On November 6, 2021, in commemoration of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk, Turkish Union Board of Directors, the members of the Soroptimist Clubs and the scholars of our club were in a moment of silence in the presence of our Ata in An\u0131tkabir (Atat\u00fcrk\u2019s Mausoleum). Turkish Union Treasurer G\u00fcl G\u00fcrses and club President Zeynep Edes together with six of our scholars fulfilled this honorable duty on behalf of G\u00f6ztepe Soroptimist Club.  On the same day, they attended the opening ceremony of Atat\u00fcrk\u2019s portrait at the Ba\u015fkent Community Education Center. Seventeen thousand small mosaic stones are used in design of the portrait to draw attention to the revolutions and achievements starting with the establishment of the Turkish Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ORANGE the WORLD ACTIVITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The members of the five Soroptimist clubs in \u0130zmir joined the parade starting from Alsancak Port to Cumhuriyet Square on Saturday, November 27, 2021 as a response to the call of \u201c16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence\u201d which started on November 25, the Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and lasted till December 10, the Human Rights Day. Our struggle against \u201cviolence against women\u201d was demonstrated with orange balloons, clothes, banners and gloves and made recognizable by boarding the Nostalgia Tram passing along the shore. Messages on the subject were announced on the digital board in G\u00fcndo\u011fdu Square.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From our club, Turkish Union Treasurer G\u00fcl G\u00fcrses, Club President Zeynep Edes, Club Past President Buket Karadeveci, candidates \u0130nci Menemencio\u011flu, Melisa Y\u00fcnc\u00fc, Ay\u015feg\u00fcl K\u0131\u015flal and our scholar Zeynep K\u0131ymaz attended the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Friendship Meeting held on December 1, 2021, Atty. Saadet Kayaalp introduced \u201cWomen”s Human Rights Training Programme\u201d and enlightened us on violence against women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkish Union Past President Atty. \u0130lke Erol and Alsancak Soroptimist Club President Atty. Sabiha Polat informed the mothers of the Buca Gediz House about women”s rights at the joint event of December 10, Human Rights Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ART IN BULDAN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Art is in Buldan” International Women Artists Festival which was realized with the partnership of two sister clubs Kar\u015f\u0131yaka and Denizli Soroptimist Clubs and with the support of Turkish Union took place in Buldan\/Denizli between September 30 and October 2, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Club members Buket Karadeveci and Muhayyel \u0130zmiro\u011flu participated the folklore dancing performance from G\u00f6ztepe. Club member Ay\u015fe Baykan made a presentation on \u201cThe production stories of ecological agricultural products.\u201d As well as Ay\u015fe Baykan, Buket Karadeveci and Muhayyel \u0130zmiro\u011flu as contributors to the program, President Zeynep Edes and members Ay\u015feg\u00fcl K\u0131\u015flal, Seval Yarkan and N\u00fckhet \u0130zmiro\u011flu attended the opening ceremony and the first day activities. Turkish Union Treasurer and club member G\u00fcl G\u00fcrses was present during the entire festival programme for support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November 12, 2022, in commemoration of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk, Turkish Union Board of Directors, the members of the Soroptimist Clubs and the scholars of our club were in a moment of silence in the presence of our Ata in An\u0131tkabir (Atat\u00fcrk\u2019s Mausoleum). Turkish Union Treasurer G\u00fcl G\u00fcrses, Club President Zeynep Edes and \u015eerife Eren together with three of our scholars fulfilled this honorable duty on behalf of G\u00f6ztepe Soroptimist Club.\u00a0 On the same day, they attended the opening ceremony of Atat\u00fcrk TEM in it\u2019s new venue. \u00a0The ceremony at the Mausoleum and the visit of it\u2019s museum was held at 14.00. Visits to Rahmi Ko\u00e7 Museum in Ankara Castle, \u0130\u015fbankas\u0131 Museum in Ulus and 2.Great National Assembly \u00a0were the last activities of the day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
